What is NO.4 Finish Strip?
No. 4 finish simply as, “General purpose polished finish, one or both sides”. It also states, “No. 4 - A linearly textured finish that may be produced by either mechanical polishing or rolling. Average surface roughness (Ra) may generally be up to 25 micro-inches (0.64 micrometres).
No. 4 Finish is the most popular for appliances, the food and beverage industry, elevators, escalators, hospitals, and any work area where there is food contact.
The Features of No.4 Finish
It is characterized by short, parallel polishing lines and is the easiest of the stainless finishes to maintain. Depending on the requirements of the application, the final finish can be anywhere between 120 and 320 grit. (Higher grit numbers produce finer polishing lines and more reflective finishes.) The surface roughness is typically Ra 25 micro-inches or less.
What is Stinless Steel Strip？
Stainless steel strip is a common mill form of stainless steel and is typically stocked in three types: heat-treatable, non-heat-treatable and pre-hardened. Stainless steel strip is formed to fit desired applications through processes such as slitting, edging, annealing, shearing, polishing, tempering and additional custom finishing. Most typically made into coil, stainless steel strip can also be made into shapes such as channels, frames, trim and angles.
Application of Stainless Steel Strip
About Application of Stainless Steel Strip,Some additional applications of stainless steel strip include catalytic converters, building materials, compressor valves, hospital equipment, cutting tools, consumer appliances and electronic enclosures. Stainless steel strip is often used in industries such as telecommunication, medical, aerospace, construction, automotive, electronics, petrochemical and food processing.
NO. 4 finish gives low gloss and best apparent flatness of panels.
